Since 1989, Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has distributed funds from a 1/10 of 1% sales and use tax to cultural facilities throughout the seven-county Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. The funds support cultural facilities whose primary purpose is to enlighten and entertain the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement and preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history and cultural history.
2011 Free Days
Our 5 Tier I organizations provide free admission to Colorado residents on select days of the year. Free Days are funded in part, by the citizens of the metro area via the SCFD 0.1% sales and use tax. It's a great value, so check out the dates below and have a free day! Additionally, The Tier I organizations (Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Zoo, Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens and The Denver Center for the Performing Arts) provide bookmarks listing their free admission days.
